Dear Readers of Black and White:

I started out writing fiction for the first time in my life on this site. I started with Edward’s Eclipse and then went to Isle Esme, before branching out to other derivative stories with contest entries, such as Beauty and the Geek. I started Black and White and from there, my inspiration has continued. I wrote most of the story before posting it and since then, this experience has dominated my imagination and real life. I never intended for it to captivate me the way it has, but it’s become something inspirational and profound and I want to publish it. I care about you as readers, so please understand how emotional this decision was for me to make.

I’ve been advised by an experienced professional in the publishing industry to pull the chapters of Black and White from the open Internet for several reasons. Having the full story on unrestricted sites, particularly since I’ve received several open requests for permission to bind the story, places this story and me at risk for not only copyright violations, but also for theft of the story which is a growing trend, as many readers know. Theft is not something I want to risk now that this has become such a personal endeavor, particularly since I intend to publish immediately due to real life time constraints.

I am not sure this opportunity would present itself again in my life and I am asking that you please understand that factor played a role in my decision. I could get into the personal details, but I won’t. I don’t want sympathy, but instead your respect for being forthright and open.

In the meantime, I appreciate your patience with this step, as I believe it is the best decision for this story. This website could crash tomorrow, but a book is something tangible and permanent. I want something I can share with the people that I love, and something that came from this unique relationship between myself and such awesome readers. I’ve dedicated so much time and emotion to this story, and you have laughed and cried with me, so I want to make it tangible.

This is an astounding community of intelligent, learned, and compassionate women. I only hope that I can live up to your aspirations for this tale and promise to work hard, making this project the absolute best it can be. I want to opine about how your delightful, thoughtful, detailed emails of support, love, personal stories, and encouragement have affected me, but suffice it to say: I thank all of you who contacted me to encourage this decision, either via private message, or through a review. Your comments, emails, reviews, PMs, stories and forum posts have been inspiring beyond belief.

Without introduction to this community, I would never have met or interacted with any of you, and for that I am so grateful.

Sincerely,

Tiffany (Vixen1836)
