As many of you know, at the time of removing my story Black and White from the Internet, I set the ambitious goal of having the novel available for purchase by November 15th. Since then, I have altered my entire life, changed my career and priorities, and with the inspiration and support of my family and this community, have dedicated myself to producing a manuscript that we can all be proud of.
Had the unforeseen events that rocked my world these last few months not taken place, I might have been able to make that deadline. But I have, quite simply, run out of time with work still to be done in order to make this novel the absolute best it can be, and for everything you have given me, you deserve no less than the absolute best I have to offer.
I very much want to share the completed Black and White novel, and eagerly anticipate when everyone can read Jason and Ava’s story in its entirety. It’s an aspiration of mine that means more than I can express, not only for myself, but for the readers and individuals in this community and in my personal life that have been influential and inspirational for me and this project. I wish to do right by you all.
I have been told repeatedly that these things happen in the creative process and that my original deadline was too ambitious, but that still doesn’t quell my disappointment. However, I must focus on the positive aspects of this situation: my relationship with each of you, and the generosity of the women in this community who have given me the courage to even attempt this endeavor, have taken time out of their real lives to provide extensive editing, revision, and pre-reading the current manuscript. I will be forever grateful for the countless, life-changing gifts you have all given me.
As of now, I have two deadlines in place, both tentative based on the availability of my volunteer editors from this community. For now, I wish to convey the longest possible deadline, which is the second quarter of the New Year. But please know that months and months of work have gone into this project, and we are all working on a methodical, rigid schedule all with one goal in mind: the completion of this novel as soon as possible, with the story and quality the best it can be.
You, my friends, and my family have all waited patiently for this novel, and because of this, I cannot justify publishing a sub-par manuscript. Black and White is going to be worth the wait, and I cannot wait to share it with you. If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Due to the issues that have occurred recently, I am a bit behind on my emails, but I will catch up, and as always, I will answer you.
Sincerely,
